Catalysts

SPRING 2020 — HOME IOT AND APP design
TASK

Our team sought to inspire motivation, prevent moments of stagnation, and build upon existing relationships within homes during the Covid-19 lockdown. Our project brief called for designing a connected ecosystem of devices that can be experienced beyond phone screens.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

This project was my first experience working 100% remotely. Our team emphasized flexibility and empathy with one another as we were each adjusting to the ways in which our world was changing. When we hit a roadblock midway through developing a concept, we evaluated our options and made a crucial pivot together.  Although, we couldn't 3D prototype our design the way we would have liked, this was a great learning experience in how to communicate design ideas on the fly and how to be scrappy and innovative.
